Our church officially launched on May 13, 1995. We received the name of the church in a fasting and prayer meeting.

Pastors Walter and Maria Varjabedian accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour in 1989.

In 1992 they received a calling from God to be Ministers.

The Pastors both recall they sought confirmation from God, so they began 40 days of fasting and prayer and the petition of their heart was that they would come across Pastors who led by the Spirit would place hands on them sending them into ministry. This was the case on the 23rd day of the 40 day fast.  When they were visiting another church, it was not the church that they attended usually and they were barely known to them, on that day that confirmation was fulfilled for their lives.

The following three years were one of waiting for the confirmations. Both received a calling from God in their lives.

Pastor Maria received a very clear calling with a passage from John 21:15-17 which in the spanish version is titled “Take Care of my Sheep“ and the verses read as follows…
“15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”  16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”  He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”  17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah,[c] do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”  Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.” (NKJV)

Pastor Walter had a reverent fear which led him to wait for several confirmations with the last confirmation being the meaning of his surname which literally means ‘Preacher of the Word of God’.

There he made a decision to serve God having accepted the calling of God.

It began at the Pastor’s home with three people having received the Lord as their Saviour and they would gather on Sundays. Soon others would start gathering.  The Holy Spirit be going to touch lives, some were filled with the Holy Spirit, others received healing and the presence of God began to manifest.

On May 13, 1995 we officially launched. It was in a fasting and prayer meeting that we received the name of the Church being “God is with us Christian Church”.

That day five people were baptised and a further five people accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

That was the first sign that God was in favour and supporting what begun.

The church location has moved through various locations. It commenced in the suburb of Braybrook, it then moved to Maidstone, then returned to Braybrook, then it went to West Footscray and after that once again returned to Maidstone and again has returned to Braybrook where we are now gathering.

We know that God has called us to conquer this city for Christ and furthermore we declare this country for Christ.

Revelation 3:20 reads:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

This was the verse that inspired us to open the doors of the Church and to allow for the Holy Spirit to enter and be the one who takes control, along with the verse found in Zechariah 4:6 which reads…
“So he answered and said to me:  “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. (NKJV)
