The Wind Blows

Extract from our Weekly Bulletin

April 10, 2016

Trials and anxieties come into our life; the winds blow and sometimes with the strength of a tornado, devastating everything to his step and we feel naked, destroyed, feeling that never again will we get up.

Have you looked around after a strong storm has passed?

The trees remain fallen, broken, lying on the ground, the houses without roofs, everything is in chaos and there is total devastation.

And one looking at it asks “when will it all return to normal again?”

In the same manner, when the trials overwhelm us, we think that we will never again stand up. Never like in these moments do I think about Job, what tremendous valour. How many of us can suffer what he suffered? Do you know?

Something that astonishes me is when his wife tells him “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!”

And he answers to her “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?”

The fact is that in our anguish we forget to raise our eyes to Christ. And after the anguish has passed we can say as Job:
“I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees you.
Therefore I abhor myself And repent in dust and ashes.
And even after so much anguish, we can read one of the most beautiful words of this book that expresses the whole love of Job for his that expresses the whole love of Job for his Saviour:
For I know that my redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;
And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God;
Whom I shall see for myself And my eyes shall behold, and not another.”

Don’t forget if you are going through hardships,  or in anguish and if in this moment you can’t find a way out of your problems remember:

The Lord has said that He will not forsake us destroy us. Trust God.
Trust in His promises, and He will take you out in victory.

Just Wait on God, Believe and Trust!!

God Bless You,
